Tournament Rules

Round 1:

2 games played – changing tables after first game.
All table assignments will be determined before the start of game 1.
Based on cumulative scores 30% to 50% of the field will move on to Round 2.
Actual percentage will be determined by number of entrants.

Round 2:

Changed in 2024 – 1 game.
All table assignments are random and will be determined before the start of the game.
Top 13 players will be invited to compete in Round 3.

The Play-In:

New in 2007, $100 U.S. buys a seat in The Play-In, for those who didn’t make the cut.
1 game – concurrent with Round 2.
All table assignments are random and will be determined before the start of the game.
The top 2 players will be invited to compete in Round 3.

Round 3:

New in 2013, 1 game played.
All table assignments are random and will be determined before the start of the game.
The top 6 players will be invited to compete in The Finals.

The Finals:

1 game Yahtzee for Beer; high score wins The Yahtzee Cup and all the Glory associated with it. Non-Drinkers must have Proxy at table to carry the load.

The Mulligan:

Haha! There is no Mulligan you cheating bastards!

Notes:

– WOT rules will be observed when playing YFB @ YZ-26. (Reference the FAQ page for WOT information)
– In rounds 1 & 2 drinking is at the discretion of the player. Except for Socials and Sloppy Die, when drinking is mandatory.
– If, for any reason, a player in The Finals has to withdraw the next highest player will advance provided the game has not started.
– There will be no assigned scorers. Scorer to be determined by roll of the dice, highest roll is the scorer. If you do not care for the honor it can be passed to next highest roll.
– In addition to scoring the game the scorer will also be responsible for loosely enforcing the rules listed above.
– An official scorer will be assigned to The Finals so the players can focus on their game.
– Play will commence to the scorers left and proceed clockwise with the scorer finishing the turn.
– These are the rules if you don’t like them start your own damn tournament.
